17th August 2016

Because of concerns raised by residents about high traffic speeds and about road safety on Coleford Bridge Road, Surrey County Council has developed proposals to alleviate the problem and would like comments from local residents. SCC had an exhibition on the 10th August at the Mytchett Community Centre with SCC staff in attendance but they have left the exhibition up at the Centre until Sunday, 21st August. If you do not wish to go to the Centre, all of this is described on the the Traffic calming consultation for Coleford Bridge Road in Mytchett page on the SCC Website.

There is an excellent Consultation leaflet (pdf) on the SCC Website which is definitely worth reading.

Surrey County Council have proposed the following options:

  • The introduction of speed cushions - Option 1.

  • The introduction of enhanced road markings and vehicle activated signs - Option 2.

  • Leave the road as it is and take no further action.

There is an Online Survey where you can express your views on the options given to you by SCC. The closing date for responses is Sunday, 11th September 2016.
