                          SURREY HEATH NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Report from Jan Warwick, Chair of the Surrey Heath Neighbourhood Watch:

We currently have 8337 members and 313 Watch Coordinators across the whole of Surrey Heath. In the immediate area of Mytchett, Frimley Green and Deepcut we have 29 Watch Coordinators in Mytchett and Deepcut and 33 Watch Coordinators in Frimley Green. We are able to give advice on home security measures and help some elderly and vulnerable residents in Surrey Heath who meet our criteria, with funding for doorchains, video doorbells, CCTV cameras, floodlights etc to keep them safe. For more information please contact adixon@surreyheathnw.co.uk

Full details about Surrey Heath Neighbourhood Watch can be found on our website:

If you would like to set up a Watch in your road or join as a member of Surrey Heath Neighbourhood Watch, please email the Area Coordinator, Jackie Davies – jdavies@surreyheathnw.co.uk

We produce a quarterly Newsletter called ‘HeathWatch’ which is circulated to all 8337 members. We can provide this in an electronic or printed format. A link to the most recent edition below:

We also have a Facebook page which you are welcome to join where we update local residents on crime prevention advice, events across Surrey Heath we will be attending, and important updates from Surrey Police. To join, please go onto Facebook and type ‘Surrey Heath Neighbourhood Watch’ in the search bar. You will then be asked if you are a resident of Surrey Heath and one more question before we can accept you as a member of the Facebook page. We currently have 5,545 members on this private group.

We also have a Twitter page - @heath_watch – so please follow us for the latest information on scams, online fraud, Police activity and other crime related matters.

We run 4 Watch Coordinator meetings a year, attended by around 100 members where the Police and Guest speakers present and answer questions on crime prevention related subjects such as cyber-crime, on-line fraud and safeguards against child exploitation. The next meetings (for members only) this year are on Monday 26th June, Monday 25th September, and Monday 27th November.

We have a Support Group which meets every other month to coordinate all our activities.

We erect and maintain approximately 1000 Neighbourhood Watch street signs for every local Watch, showing that Watches are active, hence helping to deter crime.

We look forward to seeing you on our stand at all of these local events over the coming months:-
